Spinal Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Physiotherapist who is passionate about Therapy for patients with Spinal problems.
The post will involve leading Spinal developments in the department in collaboration with prominent Spinal consultants, service needs, hospital objectives and recent research/evidence.
An ability to lead, innovate, educate and build productive and collaborative MDT relationships are key qualities required for this role.
The post holder will be well supported in a dynamic, friendly and established team environment where best practise and change for improvement is encouraged.

General Responsibility:

To be the lead physiotherapist in the area of spinal assessment and treatment for the physiotherapy department.
To ensure staff are providing high quality, contemporary, and where possible, evidence based treatments for spinal patients.
To be the key liaison person between spinal consultants and the physiotherapy department.
To effectively manage a personal clinical case load within the outpatient team and wider MDT.
To lead service development in the area of spinal therapy.

Requirements:

· Vast clinical experience and relevant CPD in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, in particular spinal patients.
· Excellent communication skills and an ability to develop close relationships with referring sources and colleagues.
· Experience in teaching and supervising staff.
· An ability and interest in leading the development of spinal services.
· Experience/ interest in developing and collating relevant outcome measures.
· An ability to read MRI, X-ray, CT scans desirable.
· Proficiency and safe techniques in spinal manipulation desirable.
· Experience in undertaking research projects desirable.
