Wellington is New Zealand’s capital city, a cultural and cosmopolitan epicentre renowned for its vibrant cafés, restaurants, international sporting and cultural events set in a beautiful natural harbour. With easy access to vineyards in the Wairarapa and beaches on the Kapiti Coast, there’s plenty of opportunity for adventure or simply to relax and unwind.

The physiotherapist in this role will work with both older adults and people following orthopaedic surgery.

In the surgical unit, you will treat people post elective orthopaedic surgery in line with the ERAS pathway. The surgical unit is also home to older adults rehabilitating after traumatic fractures. You will see these clients and also some from our health of older person’s service. Together with the wider allied health team, you will complete Allied health screens, set client centred goals and work to support an early and successful transition home. Outstanding Allied Health Assistants and friendly colleagues will support you in each area.

There are seven physiotherapists at Kenepuru who are well integrated with the wider physiotherapy profession at CCDHB with regular in-service educations and special interest groups to further professional development.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the assessment of a wide range of clinical presentations and a sound knowledge of orthopaedics and treatment approaches relevant to older adults with complex health conditions.

As a DHB employer, we can offer you a competitive salary package, opportunities for continuing professional development and growth, a supportive and fun team to work.

If you bring a positive and adaptable attitude to work and have the drive to innovate this could be the role for you!
